Heading farther out today to the city of Budva. The bus takes about one hour and a half....so we are catching an early 0815 bus.
Below shows the map of our bus route.
Budva is situated right on the Adriatic Sea, considered part of the Budva Riviera.
A population of about 14,000 but during the summer months the area is packed with tourists looking for sunny, beach time. Thirty-five kilometers of beaches make up the Budva Riviera.
Our view when we step onto the Budva Promenade!!! WOW!!!
This might be completely random but we LOVED the Budva Bus Station. More to follow about that.
It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the sea and waterfront.
Photos do not do justice to the colour of the Adriatic Sea. Turquoise....and crystal clear.
Found my sister's boat, she must be here somewhere.
"TINA"
Cafes stretching out onto the beach.....it was a sunny, warm, t-shirt day when we visited.
A two kilometer sized island is located only about one kilometer from Budva. It is called Sveti Nikola or more commonly known as Montenegro Hawaii.....I'm serious.
Uninhabited except for bunnies, pheasants, birds, rare florals and deers.
In the summer, tourists travel there for the incredible beaches. Only 3 euros to get there by boat taxi. About 10 euros to rent two lounge chairs and an umbrella for the day.
Apparently when the tide is low, in the summer, you CAN wade through the water along a narrow sandbar back to Budva.
Huge, very pricey, gorgeous yachts lined up in the port.
We are surrounded by mountains against the Adriatic Sea.
Our destination is the Citadel. But this is hard to pull ourselves away from.
We are almost there......
