First Stop...Rue Cler in Paris for Frommage.

If you haven't used the train from Charles de Gaulle Airport I have to tell you it is soooooo easy. 10.30 Euros for a one way ticket to any metro or other train station in Paris.  A cab 13 years ago cost us 50 Euros.
Ok...just had to share that.

As I mentioned Deb and I visited Paris thirteen years ago.  Our very first trip to Europe.  I loved Paris then and I still love it now.....but the world has changed.....and I'm grateful to have seen it before.

Rue Cler does not disappoint.  A beautiful, quaint pedestrian only street with shops to browse and peek at.

Flowers still available and actually are blooming in some areas.
Below is where we stopped for breakfast.  Of course crescent and Espresso.  Breakfast of champions.

The Fromagerie where we tried out some new cheeses.

Two French cheeses we thought we would try.  The above cheese, Pave d'Affinois, was delicious, is a double-cream soft cheese...kind of like Brie however 60% fat content...ouch.
Below is another tasty cheese called Comte.  It is a semi-hard cheese made from unpasteurized cow's milk in the eastern province of France, Franche-Comte.  It tastes like an old cheese which, mild and a little sweet.

Snack time with our new cheeses.

Freshly handmade crepes as you wait.  So good.

We knew and planned not to be anywhere near the Champs-Elysees where the yellow vested protestors have been standing off with police.  However, even though Rue Cler is more than 3-4 metro stops away, the disruption spilled over near our metro entrance.  We could see the puffs of tear gas dispersing into the air and these policemen and policewomen were preparing to act.
We did end up heading for the entrance anyways and I actually was approached by a Parisian Mom with her son, and she shared that we were safe.  In her opinion it was good to be protesting as they haven't for many years and there is a lot to be fixed.
The Parisian continue as they always have with a resilience.
