Flora & Fauna in Montengro

I love discovering and looking closely at the different vegetation that countries have that Canada does not.  I believe this is a form of the Prickly Pear cactus.  However there are many varied forms of similar cactus.  What I know....is it is extraordinary.

This very colourful pigeon is munching on the orange fruit that falls from the palm tree...basically called Palm Tree Fruit.  It is not poisonous but apparently it is not really edible for humans.

Orange trees right outside our window.

These lovely, delicate flowers growing everywhere in our small town.

Three local geese inhabit the port water area.  Besides seagulls and cormorants, these wee lovies rule the roast.

These wee beauties were waiting to eat some of the popcorn under our chairs that someone left before us.  House Sparrows definitely deserve a spot in this blog.  Adorable as they are.

Another colourful interesting product growing on a tree near the sea.

Hanging around...still waiting for that popcorn.
