Following The Road Back To Herceg Novi...I Hope

Still heading up a bit, but it is a road path rather than steps.  Within the beauty of the forest surrounding us.  Trying to find our way home.  Not worried...just going to 'wing it.'
But I do not think this sign below will be helpful?

We are definitely in a residential area.  Dogs, cats and bird sounds everywhere.

Found a fixer upper.  This area is being bought up especially by Russian investors.  I bet the prices would be fantastic right now.  I remember when we first visited Dubrovnik, Croatia about 15 years ago.  It wasn't as visited as it is now and prices were so incredibly low.  To have hindsight?

Deb found a wee bench on our journey home.  Taking a few minutes to enjoy this warmth from the sun and...oh ya.....the view.

Finding our way...especially now that we are going down hill.

A lovely walk....sigh.....

More decorations on the gates.

We came upon another church situated in the city cemetery.

Guess what?  A few steps up.

These churches all have phenomenal views from their locations.

The Church of St. Anne's.
Destroyed four times over the years.
In 1538 it was built by the Spaniards, however only one year later the Turks took over the government when they invaded.  But the conquers did allow the Spaniards, who remained in this town (Savina) to use this church to practice and worship their own religious beliefs.

Quite a vast cemetery with the mountain range in the background.

Ok....so.....we know we still have to head down to get home.  We are still very high and not positive where these stairs will take us...but Deb's game and so am I.

Down we go...Yes indeed...you did it Deb.

We were not far from town and made a quick stop in the 'smallest' bookstore in the world...I'm sure.
Seriously, it is no bigger than a closet.  The owner is such a polite and friendly man.  Having enjoyed a few conversations with him.  We've added two new books (courtesy of this gentleman) to our collection that he wrote himself about Herceg Novi.

Oh thank the Lord...we are sitting and resting from a big day of hiking.
Popped into our wee cafe to try the cheese and meat dish to share.
My favourite kind of meat....smoked and shaved right off the pork leg.
Local black olives and homemade cheese.

Two cappuccinos and life is good.
